Hope the decluttering went well...Im forever decluttering....BUT I am getting there.  Its amazing how much your basement can hold..Big or Small we always find spots to 'stick stuff'...Girls and I started on our basement yesterday...First step for me is to get it organized...alot of totes..Now i got everything organized I have to start
going through the totes....It will take awhile but WE WILL get it done!!  Recyclables ..what do you do with yours??  I have realized yesterday I dont need to hold on to all the boxes....box that the blue ray player came in...box for modem....box for telephone...etc....I recycled them all and freed up alot of space!!!!

15 minutes!!! Take fifteen minutes to declutter a room.
Will make you feel good. And remember...trash goes in trash....give away goes in car
and dropped off right away. put away goes where it belongs!!! Happy Day!

ok I know you have been asking for before & after pics.  I have not been doing them :-(  so sorry.
I will try. lol.
My fabric softener towel is drying I type.  Will give it a test run tomorrow. As I am SURE as the sun will come up I will have a load of laundry to do.

Found another tip that excited me...lol (it doesnt take much)  Use car wax on your vents to keep them dust free! Praise the Lord!!  Im always vaccuming or wiping the bathroom and living room vents..I will for certain keep you all in the loop if this works...if you do try it let me know!!!!

I found this tip and will try this on the weekend.  Get out your favorite fabric softener and soak a old hand towel with it.  Wring it out. Let it dry.  Throw it in the dryer with the next load!!  Should last for 40 loads!!!!

Everyone asks me what I do with my dirty dishes because I dont have a dishwasher....I wash them.  LOL We may do dishes 5-6 times a day but we always wash them.  One thing about dishes is do them before you go to bed...nothing worse than waking up to a sink full of dishes....

Happy Family Day everyone!!!

What are everyones plans for today??  In my house its family day everyday...my family is my Life.  The girls and I are going volunteering together.   My youngest just became a 'official' volunteer and now we ALL can volunteer.  So excited.  To help others and do it as a family.

Do something as a family today...could be watch a movie....go for a walk....a drive....whatever the case may be have fun!!!!

Happy Saturday
  Today I am scouring my bathrooms....the only way I find I can do this is by taking everything out of the bathroom....Wash shower curtain in washing machine....I find alot of dust on my walls here so i do vaccum down everything first...Than i start from top and work my way down....glass first and shelves...than down to sink, tub, toilet and lastly floors and baseboards....It does take more than fifteen minutes but its got to get done!!!

WOW!  Yesterday was weed it out & I got a nice treat when I arrived home from work...My darling daughters went into the basement and cleaned out all their 'stuff'....they got a garbage bag full!!!   They were so excited and proud of themselves...made me so happy  :-)

How is everyone??  Getting the rooms decluttered?

Remember to take it 15 minutes at a time so you don't get overwhelmed....Some people laugh at this time frame but 15minutes compared to saying I got 8 hours is quite a difference!!  :-)   You dont want to get so frustrated that you completely give up..  Give it a try..say to yourself...Im going into the master bedroom for 15 minutes to clean....you will be surprised!

Happy Valentines day!!!
   I discovered this tip years ago and it worked like a charm....My washing machine drained out into my utility sink but would always end up clogging the drain with lint.....I hung a wire paint roller over the side...the lint stuck to the metal..never had a clogged sink after!!!!

Happy Birthday Michelle!!
  Hey everyone....Well its day 45...Today I got caught...lol..well sort of.  My daughter wanted to go swimming and we have misplaced her rec card.  I tore up the kitchen looking for it....well 2 hours into it I found alot of interesing things and also a few things I misplaced before.   A few people knew what I was doing and I was asked by a couple...."why are you looking for it? your miss organized".....Well no Im not...lol.  And today was proof.  However...I have realized that whatever I do not use IS garbage and I know longer need to hold on to bills that have been paid...Shred them everyone!!!   go buy a shredder and shred to your hearts content...Wonderful feeling to get rid of all the paper!!  
It is a slow process...to get organized...but with each passing day it gets easier.  You just have to forge ahead!
I do hope by day 365 I will be 'miss organized'....Love you all!!

Sunday again!!! Time is flying by.....
Today get everything in order for Monday morning...Mondays are usually chaos...but with a little planning
it can be smooth.....
House smelling a little musty not being able to open the windows yet?? Put some cinnamon in a small pot with some water and simmer
over low heat....add some orange peels for a great combination!!!! Make sure you stir this...it can stick to the bottom and get gloppy!!!

Not sure if I posted this yet ...(NO I didnt look back)  but here is a cleaner recipe I found for the shower!

Ingredients: 12 ounces white vinegar 12 ounces liquid , blue dawn detergent Directions: 1 Heat vinegar in microwave until hot and pour into squirt bottle. 2 Add the Dawn soap. Put the lid on and gently shake to incorporate. 3 You now have a powerful cleaning product that will melt soap scum and tub and shower buildup, clean sinks, appliances and just about anything. Just spray it on, scrub, rinse and be amazed. For tough soap scum build-up, spray the mixture on and allow it to sit as long as overnight. Then, scrub and rinse.

Dryer sheets....Do you throw them out when the cycle is done??  Keep them...they are great for dusting and you can also put them on your dry swifter...it usually takes 2 dryer sheets because they shrink in the dryer....picks up dust like a charm!!!!

I Found two recipes to make your own Febreeze......
  1).  12-15 drops of essential oil
         1/2 cup white vinegar
         1  1/2 cup water


2).  4tbsp. of fabric softener
       (place in spray bottle and fill up with water!)

Loofah bath Sponges smelling funny????  Throw em' all in the washing machine with your laundry...when wash is done just hang em' back up in shower ....don't put them in the dryer!

Found this and had to share!!!!  Happy Monday!!!
Question: Our front bathroom is pretty much used by our 2 boys. My problem is that I cannot get rid of the "boy bathroom smell." I scrubbed the bathroom last week, and have made a point to wipe things down and have them do it as well. I even replaced the toilet seats. It makes me want to go in there with a pressure washer full of bleach! Any suggestions on how to get rid of the smell?? I always worry guests can smell it too unless I turn the wax burner on.

Answer:  I have to start by saying that this question makes me so glad that I have a girl!  Okay, now that I've said that let's fix the problem!

Here's what you will need:

Baking Soda

Lemon Juice {fresh is better}

White Vinegar

Damp rag

Step 1: Mix a paste of baking soda and lemon juice.  If you don't have lemon juice you can use water but lemon juice is a great disinfectant and great for removing odors.  The consistency of the paste should be about that of pancake mix.

Step 2: Spread the paste all along the bottom of the toilet {where it meets the floor}, the toilet seat, and any other area that gets a lot of over spray. 

Let it set for about 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: When the timer expires spray the dried paste with white vinegar and let it fizzle.  Once it is done fizzing wipe it up with a damp cloth.  

It's very important that you don't forget about the walls and/or cupboards on either side of the toilet.  It's easy to remember to wipe the floor and the toilet but the walls and cupboards will also get sprayed and they will need to be wiped down regularly too.  Spray them down with vinegar, let it set on them for a few minutes and them wipe them down.

Cleaning the toilet, floor and walls at least once a week, with these steps, will keep the smell at bay and you won't have to worry about what your guests think anymore!

Heres my daughters tip of the day.....
   Never ever use wax paper to line the cookie sheet when making any cookies in the oven!!!!   It may look like parchment paper but its not....it makes the house smell like its burning .....it also leaves a funny taste on the cookies!!!!

Heres a neat idea I discovered at work......
   Do you use a wet Swifter?  I do and i know the refill bottles are expensive....When the bottle is empty refill it with your favorite all purpose cleaner and water....Poke a hole in the 'end' of the bottle...the size of half a dime.  And when you move the swifter the solution will come out...instead of spraying it will come out the end of the bottle as you move!!  Make sense??   lol...

You hear that nasty little voice in your head all the time. I don't have time right now. YOU DON'T HAVE TIME FOR WHAT? To do it RIGHT! To do it like your momma did!  We are not good judges of time! In our heads we think emptying the dishwasher will take hours when it only takes 3 minutes!  Our perfectionism/procrastination also hurts us in other ways. We keep putting off going to the doctor because we don't have time! We don't place an order for something we know will help us and then all of a sudden it is gone and we start to beat ourselves up over our procrastination again.  I live by the Do it Now Principle! When something needs to be done and if it is not done then you will feel bad; this is when I do it! Think about putting a fresh roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. We only think of it when we are in there. Guess who usually gets left with an empty roll. YOU! Your procrastination has hurt you again.  Our minds are going 90 miles an hour. We can think of more things to do in 5 minutes than we can do in a lifetime. Let's channel some of that power into action by Doing It Now. When you find yourself using this principle more often you are going to surprise yourself! This is not getting sidetracked! It is staying focused and accomplishing something so we don't have to beat ourselves up later!  Have you been putting something off? One day soon we will run out of our calendars and there you will be begging for one and beating yourself up because of your procrastination. You do have time; if you will just do what needs to be done and don't put it off another day! Just think, this will put an end to those nasty voices in your head!  There are many of you that are procrastinating about shining your sink! This is the habit that changed my life! Please give it a try! It won't take that long! I know you think I am crazy when your house is a mess and you have a to do list longer than your arm and I am telling you to shine your sink. Apply the Do It Now principle and see how good you will feel! Send me an email and tell me what you accomplished today in honor of Anti-Procrastination Day! It can something small or big, it does not matter! Don't let perfectionism get in the way of Do It Now!

Alot of people have been asking me how to clean a room out....What I suggest is starting in one corner and move around the room....Spend 15 fifteen minutes at a time...Take anything out of the room that doesnt belong and put it in its space....if its garbage throw it out....Once you get it decluttered you can move your furniture out to sweep,vaccum behind, underneath....dont forget your baseboards....Once your all done and if you have hardwood its time to mop the floor!!  I hope this gives you a start!!!
